Employment
During the mid 1990s the MoD decided that it wished to contract out much of its resettlement support to a single commercial supplier. That is currently Right Management, and the prime contract between Right Management and the MoD is referred to as the Career Transition Partnership (CTP).
The Officers’ Association is very much involved with the CTP contract as it provides employment support for Service Leavers, acting as a subcontractor to Right Management. In doing this it works hand in glove with another charity with a proud history, the Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA). The OA and RFEA jointly provide the jobfinding element of the resettlement package for Service Leavers, utilising the CTP jobfinding website, RightJob.
Around 40% of those who use the OA for employment support have left the Services at least two years before. They can be given much the same support as Service Leavers; the primary difference being that the support of ex-Officers is charitably funded. In this area we also cooperate with Officers Association Scotland, which is a separate charity operating in Scotland
