13th September 2017: OA Event – Project Management Workshop – Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The skills and experience required to manage a project are common within the Forces and many individuals look to transition into a new career within Project Management when they leave, but what does project management look like in a civilian context?

What are businesses looking for in their Project Managers?

What qualifications do you need to be recognised as a Project Manager?

How can you optimise your applications for these roles?

This event is one of a series of career-focused workshops delivered in conjunction with employers which explore these questions.

The workshop will begin with an overview of project management within a business setting, including a review of qualifications.

You will then have the opportunity to hear from some fantastic, insightful speakers, who already work in Project Management offering advice on factors to consider when entering a particular sector. The speakers will be from local employers based in the North East.

Finally, a panel of HR Managers and recruiters will cover some of the key skills and experience they look for in a project management cv and tips for navigating the recruitment process, this session will be run as a panel discussion, with an opportunity to engage with HR managers from a variety of companies afterwards for more individual feedback or questions. So please feel free to bring along your project management focused CV for review on the day.

As this is an intensive workshop, places are limited so we therefore recommend that you sign-up as soon as possible.

The workshop will be running the day before the CTP careers fair in Sunderland so this will be a good opportunity to attend both events in the North East. You can find more information on the CTP careers fair here.
