This event aims to inform Service Leavers of the best ways to tailor their CV in order to gain interviews for executive and management roles in the construction industry. The workshop will look at the importance of highlighting key skills, attributes and qualifications that will lead to employment within this industry.
The MD of Carillion Construction Services will open the event and presentations from two Operations Directors from the Building and Infrastructure divisions will follow. These presentations will cover some of the key things they look for in candidates. HR Recruiters from Carillion will then present on how the recruitment process works, making specific reference to jobs currently live on Carillion’s jobs portal. Two Service leavers will present on their own paths within the business and the event will close with group and one-on-one CV advice followed by a networking opportunity with some senior Carillion staff.
Carillion is a £5.2Bn construction and infrastructure services company that not only maintains the MOD Estate, but is Network Rail’s and one of Highways England’s largest contractors. With a huge and diverse portfolio of construction contracts ranging from high end multi-storey domestic residences through a brand new A&E hospital to motorways and HS2, the company has opportunities in various construction fields and expertise in most.
CVs – Please submit your CV for review before 1 September to Client.Admin3@officersassociation.org.uk. To get the most from the workshop, avoid submitting ‘generic’ CVs and provide one tailored for roles within construction.
