The OA will work with the Royal Navy Cricket Club (RNCC) to support the development and promotion of cricket across the Naval Service and specifically women’s cricket, in the form of a three year sponsorship agreement.
Sponsorship from the OA will be used to purchase RNCC Women’s Team clothing and equipment, supporting RNCC and UKAFCA cricket events and assisting in the development of women’s cricket across the service through professional coaching.
“We are delighted to support the continued growth of women’s cricket across the Naval Service and to play a small part in the on-going success of the Royal Navy Cricket Club,” commented Lee Holloway, Chief Executive of the OA. “We look forward to developing a strong partnership with the RNCC to raise awareness of the services the OA offers.”
Commodore Mike Beardall RN, Chair of RNCC Cricket said, “We are really pleased to welcome the Officers’ Association on board as the primary sponsor for women’s cricket and look forward to a successful partnership that will assist in bringing Cricket to a wider audience across our female personnel, generating stronger competition.”
The RNCC’s Women’s cricket season covers matches against club teams, the Women’s IST20 competition and Inter-Service Cricket Festival. RNCC’s cricket season runs from April to September including the following major competitions for the women’s, men’s senior and men’s development teams, as well as friendly matches for the RNCC Club side.
