The OA Facebook Page was launched in July 2016, and is now a crucial way for us to engage with people.
It has 12,269 followers and has become an active hub for the transitioning and former officers’ community. We also use Facebook to reach a wider audience, including beyond the military sector. We share key stories, promote events and broadcast live to connect directly with our community in real time.
Ross Walker, OA Social Media Manager, said: “I am pleased that the Facebook page has become an established online community in its first year. I now want to build on this success, by encouraging people to become more actively involved on the page.”
The OA is committed to using digital technology to build and strengthen our community. Our Twitter account has 2,043 followers, and our LinkedIn page has 6,109 followers. We also recently launched an Instagram account to share images of our events and stakeholders, as well as the Armed Forces.
