OA Presents Sword to Navy Head Officer Cadet

The OA was delighted to present a prize at the Summer Passing Out Parade on Thursday 10th August at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

The OA presented the ‘Spirit of the Royal Navy’ sword to Officer Cadet Bethany Ward in recognition of her outstanding performance at the College.

Throughout her training, Bethany has upheld the finest traditions of the College and the Service. Praised for her qualities in leadership, discipline, respect, integrity and loyalty, Bethany has shown great courage and commitment and the spirit to fight and win. She has been the Head Cadet for her final term and led the parade on Thursday.

Bethany was presented with the Sword by Vice Admiral Ben Key CBE, the Fleet Commander, and Commander Nigel Hare (Retired), Head of Benevolence at the OA. Vice Admiral Key was the inspecting officer and guest of honour at the Parade.

Nigel said: “Bethany is a great credit to the College and an outstanding example of the very high calibre of cadets passing out. Captain Woodard, the Captain of the College, should be justly proud of what he and his excellent staff are achieving.”
