The skills and experience required to manage a project are common within the Forces and many individuals look to transition into a new career within Project Management when they leave, but what does this look like in a civilian context?
What are businesses looking for in their Project Managers?
What qualifications do you need to be recognised as a Project Manager?
How can you optimise your applications for these roles?
Kindly hosted by Network Rail this event is one of a series of OA career-focused workshops delivered in conjunction with employers which explores these questions…
The workshop will begin with an overview of project management within a business setting, including a review of qualifications.
You will then have the opportunity to hear from some fantastic, insightful speakers, who already work in Project Management offering advice on factors to consider when entering a particular sector. The speakers will be from local employers based in the North who understand the skill set accumulated through a military career. Many of the speakers throughout the session will share their top tips for transitioning from the military into project management roles, as well as explaining how best to build a second career within civilian industries.
Finally, a panel of HR Managers and recruiters will cover some of the key skills and experience they look for in a project management CV and tips for navigating the recruitment process. This session will be run as a panel discussion, with an opportunity to engage with HR managers from a variety of companies for more individualised or specific questions.
As this is an intensive workshop, places are limited so we therefore recommend that you sign-up as soon as possible.
