23rd January 2019: The Leaders Club – Tales from a Westminster Political Correspondent – London

With Brexit dominating the news, what better timing could there be to ask an expert to give his view?

The Leaders Club’s first session for 2019, their 10th Birthday year, features Christopher Hope, Chief Political Correspondent and Assistant Editor of The Daily Telegraph. Chris presents a weekly podcast called Chopper’s Brexit Podcast, whose 75 episodes have been listened to or downloaded 1.1million since its launch in March last year.

Christopher joined the newspaper in 2003 and his previous roles have included Business Correspondent, Home Affairs Editor and Whitehall Editor. He and his wife Sarah founded a charity Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope after a bus crash in 2007 in which his two year old daughter Pollyanna lost her leg, Sarah suffered life changing injuries and Sarah’s mother Elizabeth was killed.

Since the charity was founded in 2010 it has raised over £500,000 for amputee children in Africa and India. Christopher has won awards for his work on the MPs’ expenses scandal in 2009 and has been nominated for others.

The Leaders Club will be donating £250 to Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope as thanks to Christopher for his presentation.
