Highways England is hosting an insight day exclusively for serving and former officers.
The event gives you the opportunity to discover the wide variety of current roles available in the organisation including project management, engineering, HR, procurement and communications.
You will hear from Service leavers working for Highways England, receive practical advice on CVs and interview techniques, and learn about the recruitment process.
The day will start with an overview of Highways England’s responsibilities, as well as its culture and values. This will be followed by presentations from Service leavers, who will share their transition top tips, how they integrated into Highways England and ‘a day in the life’ of their role.
Later there will be CV and interview skills sessions with the Highways England team, which includes recruiters and hiring managers. The interactive sessions will explain what Highways England looks for in a candidate. The team will provide guidance on the recruitment processes, what makes a brilliant CV and how to perform well in interviews. Highways England will also give practical advice on how to translate your military transferable skills to their recruiters, both in your CV and at an interview. You can submit your CV prior to the event to gain in-depth feedback in the group session.
