11th September 2019: External Event – Transition into the NHS ex-military Careers Day with University Hospitals – Birmingham

Join University Hospitals Birmingham for an afternoon of careers insight, as well as practical application and recruitment advice. This event will look at the Trust’s complete recruitment process and equip you with the tangible knowledge to excel throughout. You will leave with a clear vision of where you fit within the Trust, how to apply, and which live roles are on offer.

This event will have breakout sessions and speakers to suit all ranks and career paths, with topic options including:

  • Facilities & Estates
  • Finance
  • Medical Logistics
  • Project & Operations Management
  • Healthcare Science
  • Informatics and Digital Technology
  • ‘A look inside our machines’ – engineering in the NHS

You will have the opportunity to speak to key decision makers within the Trust, and meet with the HR team who can support you through the application process. Confirmed speakers include the Trust’s Deputy Director of Facilities, Head of Estates, Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Technical Services, to name only a few.

This event is suitable for all Service leavers and veterans, regardless of location – your learnings from the day can be taken back and used in application for any NHS Trust.

Many former Service personnel now have hugely successful careers within the NHS. Do not miss this opportunity to find out how you too can take the next step in your civilian career.

“There is a real requirement for the knowledge, skills and experience gained during a military career in the NHS. There are a variety of roles, outside the clinical route, where former service personnel can develop a worthwhile second career.”

Quote from Phil Harrison, retired Colonel, now Project Manager with University Hospitals Birmingham.
