Officers’ Association Supports New Non-Executive Development Programme for Senior Service Leavers

OnBoarding Officers is an accelerated non-executive training programme established to help transitioning and former officers hone their military leadership skills in readiness for Non- Executive roles in UK organisations.

Participants will be provided with a critical insight into the commercial world, whether their aspirations are to take a Non-Executive Director (NED) role immediately, or at some time in the future. The programme will run as a partnership between FDS Director Services and ONECPD, the training arm of Salford Professional Development (a subsidiary of the University of Salford), with their experts providing high-level professional executive training.
The programme is supported by the practical skills of the course tutors, programme ambassadors and experienced NEDs who have world-class and award-winning skills.

Launched on Thursday 31st January 2018 at London’s Central Hall Westminster, Lee Holloway, CEO of the OA said: “The OA recognises that military leaders have the skills, breadth of experience and personal qualities to perform at board level. It is our ambition to see businesses take advantage of this hidden talent pool and recruit more former military personnel to their boards.

“By supporting this exciting NED programme, we’re aiming to provide a pathway to make this happen.”

Jo Haigh, CEO of FDS, Founder and course tutor of OnBoarding Officers said: “We are overwhelmed with the substantial and positive support that we have received from the military sector. Our initiative is much more than a training programme; we are focussed on building a supportive community for our delegates.”

The OnBoarding Officers programme is also supported by The Army and Navy Club, Clarke Willmott LLP, Central Hall Westminster and KUDOS.
