Finding a new career path as a 50+ civilian employee is challenging. Job seekers are expected to be self-managing, entrepreneurial and more adaptable than ever before.
Employers want more from candidates. They value military skills and whilst you have the talents, leadership and experience that Service life delivers, a lack of civilian experience can work against you. Employers can sometimes overlook military skills in favour of candidates with commercial expertise.
We recognise these hurdles and the need to take charge of your civilian career path. For many of us, this next step is critical to long-term job success and resettlement.
Our new 50+ Commercial Development Plan is tailored to the career needs of serving and former military job seekers aged 50 years plus.
Designed to run over 6 months, the course combines a focus on understanding the lessons of the past to help plan for your future with a traditional classroom-based introduction to the financial and commercial skills needed in business.
Part One aims to hone your ability to respond to changing circumstances through personal insights and core competencies. Centred on the principles of personal leadership, the course gets you focussed on achieving your personal and career goals.
Run virtually; delegates will be asked to participate in two half-day training sessions, group work and provide a video film plus complete a detailed questionnaire. Follow-up sessions run until October 2021.
Part Two helps you understand how to transfer existing skills and knowledge into a business environment by strengthening your leadership and strategic skill sets whilst demystifying financial and commercial jargon commonly used within business.
This course element will be instructional and will be undertaken face to face in London the week commencing May 17th for 4 days.
